Keeping Your Skin Healthy While You’re Stuck At Home

A lot of people have been stuck at home these past few weeks due to the coronavirus pandemic. It is a stressful time for many, but it is a necessary step needed to combat the spread of COVID-19. While you are at home, don’t neglect your skin’s health. When you’re at home, you might be wearing  less makeup and applying fewer products on your skin, but you should still be doing the essential steps to keep your skin as healthy as possible. Here are some of them:

  • Don’t Forget The Sunscreen – Just because you’re not going out doesn’t mean you can skip the sunscreen. UVA light can still penetrate the glass on your windows, so you are still at risk for sun damage even if you’re inside your house.
  • Moisturize More – Dryness can be a problem when you’re washing your hands more or if you’re just mostly inside in an air-conditioned space. The best time to moisturize is when your skin is still a bit damp. The moisturizing cream actually traps a bit of the water and seals it inside your skin. Try to get your hands on some creams with hyaluronic acid as an ingredient as they promote hydration of your skin.
  • Avoid Touching Your Face – Doing this will diminish the spread of not just the coronavirus, but also bacteria, dirt and grime. Touching your face with unwashed hands can also cause acne breakouts and promote inflammation if bacteria does get in your skin’s pores.
  • Keep Exercising – Avoid being idle. Sweating actually helps get rid of the harmful substances in your skin. Working out at home also reduces the risk of different types of bacteria and copious amounts of dirt getting on your skin, as there are no multiple people going in and out all day.
