Three Foods Surprisingly Bad For Your Skin


Did you know that not all organic or natural foods are automatically good for your skin? Here are five examples:
1. Milk – Consuming high amounts of milk, regardless of its fat content, can lead to an increased occurence of acne breakouts. Milk contains the hormone IGF-1, which is good for growing babies but in adults can lead to acne breakouts and increased skin inflammation. Dairy consumption also spikes insulin levels in the body, further linking it to inflammation and acne. Milk can also ramp up oil production in the skin that leads to clogged pores.
2. Shellfish – Shrimps, crabs and lobsters can be very delicious but are very high in iodine, leading to acne breakouts. Keep in mind that many people are also allergic to shellfish – getting in contact or ingesting can cause rashes, inflamed skin, or even worse health conditions.
3. Fruit Juices – These can be from all types of fruits. However, not only are they actually full of sugar (fructose) but also lack fiber content. Your body needs fiber to prevent blood sugar swings that make your skin age a lot quicker. Prematurely aging skin results in more wrinkles.
