  • Complacency After Seeing Results – Results can sometimes take months to physically appear when you start a new skincare regimen. However, a lot of people tend to start using these products less upon seeing initial results. Remember that you need to keep using these products to continue seeing improvements, otherwise your skin might revert to its previous state before you started using the product. The bottom line is that a skincare regimen is a long-term commitment, not a short-term fix.
  • Storing products improperly – Putting your skincare products in areas that are too warm or too moist can cause the active ingredients to deactivate really quick. Active ingredients like Vitamin C, retinol, antioxidants, and UV filters are sensitive to high temperatures, so keep them away from direct sunlight and from moisture-filled environments. The same principle about moisture goes for tools you use for skincare, like razors, combs, tweezers, and exfoliators because a moist environment promotes the growth of harmful bacteria that can then be transferred onto your skin when you use the tools.
  • Allowing your skincare products to become stale – Skincare products usually have an expiration date, meaning they don’t last forever.
